OK Go at it again...

You guys might remember OK Go's 2005 video A Million Ways, and unless you just discovered the internet today, you've see their 2006 video for Here It Goes Again. Well, from the looks of it the band has topped all of that with their latest video for This Too Shall Pass. Have a look:

Gorillaz - Plastic Beach

If you haven't already heard, Brit virtual band Gorillaz third album Plastic Beach drops here in the States on March 9th. To promote the release of their latest LP they have made the video for the albums first single, Stylo, available for viewing here via youtube. Aside from the 3-d makeover, the video also includes an appearance by a bounty hunting Bruce Willis .

In addition to the video, you can stream the entire album here. Personally, I've only listened to a few tracks so far, and while nothing grabs me the way previous tracks Dirty Harry or Clint Eastwood did I've still been quite impressed with the new direction this album has taken the band. Bear Hands

Making their second appearance at SXSW this year, Bear Hands is bringing with them an EP of 3 songs which leads off with "What a Drag". This single has a great hook and back beat. Listening to their others songs, their sound a mix of indie pop and with a bit of post-punk all rolled into one.

The Morning Benders - Big Echo

The Morning Benders are offering listeners the chance to stream their new album Big Echo in it's entirety before it drops on March 9th. The band had previously given away the first two tracks , Excuses and Promises, as free downloads so return the favor and give the album a listen. Free Best of Bonnaroo download

Free music? At no cost to you (other than taking a few seconds to support some environmental legislation)? Well, it just doesn't get much better than that, even if it means getting suckered into downloading more garbage from The Decemberists.

As noted over at Pitchfork, Bonnaroo has teamed up with voter registration organization HeadCount, and environmental activist group the NRDC Action Fund to offer The Best of Bonnaroo, a 17 track compilation including indie fav's such as Wilco, Death Cab for Cutie, and My Morning Jacket.

Free Press Summer Fest 2010

For us poor Houston folk who can't shell out the 500 for SXSW or make the trek to a festival like Bonneroo, Houston is having it's annual Free Press Summer Fest this June 5-6th. The lineup this year is pretty sweet and I am psyched to attend both days. Last year had about 2-3 acts I had wanted to see, but this year promises more bands that remain on several of my playlists.

You can purchase advance tickets and I am definitely going to go for the fancy pants passes, because summer in Houston is no joke. Access to shorter drink lines and cool off tents will be worth the money.

Catchy New Feature Alert!

Okay gang, today will be the first in a weekly series of posts I like to call My Monday Mixtape. I'll consider this my chance to hook you up with a weekly sampling of what we're listening to over at Casa de Indie. Some mixes will simply be the best of what's currently in heavy rotation on our Ipods, others will be timely mixes for the season, or collections of music that somehow have a uniting theme, but mostly it's just a chance for us to pimp some of the songs and artists that we love.
